Synergia Center Offer. Tinkering, training, coding!
The Warsaw Laboratory of Social Innovation Synergia is a new institution at ul. Markowska 16, which is intended to strengthen neighborly ties. During social consultations, Warsaw residents decided what should happen in this place. The center was created to meet the needs of Praga residents. So what is happening there?
It has long been known that children and young people learn best through play, which is why Synergia created the fabLab Czacha Dymi! This is an educational space that combines modern technologies with a passion for learning. It is intended to encourage young people to explore mathematical and natural sciences through the use of modern teaching tools.
Classes in fabLab must be enjoyable. Participants clearly enjoy learning using VR goggles, 3D printing, robots, Makey Makey and Micro:bit boards, Lego blocks. Each class is an experiment. Recently, STEM Kindlotek was opened in fabLab. This is a lab equipped with Kindle tablets, educational robots, and programming kits.
Workshops, including programming, robotics and DIY, are available free of charge to all Warsaw residents. FabLabs already have a Warsaw-wide reach. Some also operate outside Markowska. For example, the Wbijaj! workshop, which is located at ul. Stara 4.
On the second floor of the building on Markowska Street, a sports hall adapted for conducting classes in eastern martial arts was created, with changing rooms and sanitary facilities. Aikido classes for adults are already organized there. They take place every Monday at 8:00 p.m. At Synergia, you can also learn tai chi techniques. Instructors invite adults on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. Admission to all classes is free.
In Synergy, residents have almost 3,000 sq m at their disposal, including space for family meetings, local initiatives, innovative educational activities. It is also a place without architectural barriers. On the lowest floor of the building, a club café, space for artistic activities for children and youth, as well as service premises indicated during social consultations, are planned.
A Local Activity Place was created on the floor above. Activities initiated by residents for their integration and social activation are carried out here. On the same floor there will also be a social canteen, which will be run by a social entity engaging people in need of help. In addition, a Day Care Point for children up to three years of age was opened on the first floor.
On the second floor, on an area of over 350 square meters, there is the Markowska Hearth, which supports children and youth of school age. On the third floor there is a public conference room with meeting rooms.
