Trzaskowski won back Duda's former voters? This could be an important study

At 9 p.m. it became clear that although Rafał Trzaskowski had won the first round of the presidential election , his advantage over Karol Nawrocki was not very large. According to the exit poll conducted by Ipsos, the Civic Coalition candidate won 30.8 percent of the votes . The results of the late poll were not much different.

The result of 29.1 percent appeared next to the name of Trzaskowski's main rival, Nawrocki , supported by Law and Justice. He was followed by Sławomir Mentzen from Konfederacja with 15.4 percent of the votes in the exit poll. Next was Grzegorz Braun with 6.2 percent.

Andrzej Duda's voters in the second round of the 2020 presidential elections distributed their votes primarily among the candidates who took second, third and fourth place, according to the Ipsos survey.

63.5% of Duda voters voted for Nawrocki , 17.5% voted for Mentzen, and over 8% voted for Braun, while 2.7% voted for Trzaskowski .

Andrzej Duda officially supported Karol Nawrocki. He wrote this after seeing the results

Such support for Nawrocki among Duda's voters could have been influenced by several factors, including the official support of the candidate by the incumbent president . "I am here to say: you have to. You have to mobilize yourselves just as you mobilized yourselves in 2015 and later in 2020," the president said at the end of April.

– We must do everything to ensure that over 10 million people vote for Karol Nawrocki – Duda appealed. – I will vote for Karol Nawrocki in these elections, because I believe that he is a man who will do everything to make Poland an honest country – he declared.

The president managed to respond to the exit poll results on Sunday evening . "I would like to thank all my compatriots who took part in the first round of the presidential election, who devoted their time and voted. Thank you for your serious civic attitude. Thank you for thinking about the issues of our homeland," he wrote.

"I wholeheartedly ask you to go back in two weeks and elect the next President of the Republic of Poland. The President of a free, sovereign, independent Poland. A Poland that will be able to protect the weak and will not have to fear the strong. A Poland in which honesty will prevail, not cynicism and villainy. This is the most important thing right now!" he emphasized.
