Sławomir Górecki has died. He made art an investment with soul

Sławomir Górecki, a collector, art dealer and founder of the Piękna Gallery in Warsaw and Green Point Projects in New York, has died. His passing is a loss not only for the art world, but also for those who, thanks to him, learned to look at it with passion and understanding.
Sławomir Górecki lived in New York for over three decades, where he successfully promoted Polish contemporary art. In 2015, he returned to Warsaw to open Piękna Gallery at 10 Emilii Plater Street – a place dedicated to contemporary classics such as Stanisław Fijałkowski, Stefan Krygier and Teresa Pągowska, as well as younger artists such as Łukasz Patelczyk and Jakub Słomkowski.

Two years later, in 2017, he founded Green Point Projects in Brooklyn, a gallery presenting Polish artists overseas. There, he collaborated with Marek Bartelik , former chairman of AICA International , which resulted in, among others, the exhibition "A Young Man Plans a Voyage" by Stanisław Fijałkowski , distinguished by the Artnet portal as one of the seven most interesting art events in New York.
The legacy of Sławomir GóreckiGórecki not only collected art, but also taught how to understand it and invest in it. He organized auctions, such as "New Masters" , presenting works by selected artists of the young generation, whose work is already gaining recognition on the market. In his gallery, art was not only an aesthetic experience, but also a conscious investment choice.
Sławomir Górecki left behind not only a collection of works of art, but above all the idea that art can be a bridge connecting generations, cultures and countries. His work contributed to increasing the presence of Polish artists on the international art scene. Although he is gone, his influence on the art world will remain alive.
