Murder on UW campus. Man attacks with an axe, woman dies

The porter attacked by the 22-year-old perpetrator on the UW campus was over 60 years old. A security guard was also injured and is in critical condition, PAP has learned.
At 6:40 p.m. on the campus of the University of Warsaw at Krakowskie Przedmieście, an incident of a criminal nature took place, police officer Rafał Rutkowski from the Warsaw Police Headquarters told PAP.
In turn, the spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba, announced that the perpetrator of the murder had been detained.
"He is a 22-year-old Polish citizen, he is not a resident of Warsaw," he told PAP.
He added that the perpetrator attacked a 60-year-old porter at the Auditorium Maximum. He also attacked a security guard who tried to intervene and is in critical condition.
Intensive work by police officers and prosecutors is underway at the scene. Surveillance has been secured. The reasons for which the 22-year-old attacked UW employees with an axe, as reported by TVN, are not yet known. (PAP)
