Ten Ambassadors of Professional Wound Therapy Selected in Poland

In Warsaw, during the Session of the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives, we met 10 specialists honored with the title of Ambassador of Professional Wound Therapy. The "Wounds under Control" competition distinguished people who use modern methods of treating difficult-to-heal wounds in their work and actively educate patients.
In the first edition of the competition organized as part of the "Wounds under Control" campaign, 10 outstanding specialists dealing with the treatment of difficult-to-heal wounds were distinguished. The official award ceremony took place on June 3, 2025 in Warsaw, during the Meeting of the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives. Candidates from all over Poland were entered into the competition, and the effects of their work, innovative methods and educational activities aimed at patients were assessed.
As indicated by the Agreement for Professional Wound Therapy, over 35 thousand hospitalizations in Poland per year are related to complications of chronic wounds. However, in many facilities the basic approach still dominates, i.e. changing dressings without comprehensive treatment. The competition showed that more and more nurses and midwives are taking up challenges and implementing modern, effective methods, such as biofilm control, lavaseptics or advanced antiseptics.
The expert of the “Wounds under Control” campaign, Jolanta Dynarska, M.A., emphasizes that the winners of the competition are people who “do not wait for systemic changes, but initiate them themselves.” Nurses and midwives create their own treatment paths, educate patients and make difficult therapeutic decisions with great commitment.
The award winners included specialists from various institutions and regions of Poland.
