Today, those sentenced to no more than one and a half years in prison can apply for the possibility of serving a prison sentence in the electronic monitoring system (SDE). According to experts, this limit is too low and should be set at two years of imprisonment. According to information from "Rzeczpospolita", the Ministry of Justice and the Prison Service are planning to introduce such regulations.

The idea is positively assessed by Prof. Szymon Tarapata from the Department of Criminal Executive Law at the Jagiellonian University.
