Football. President Alex Haditaghi outraged by incidents during Polish Cup final

During the recent Polish Cup football final, in which Legia Warsaw defeated Pogoń Szczecin 4:3, some of the Szczecin fans were attacked, beaten and robbed by people associated with the military club's scarf community. In this case, Pogoń president Alex Haditaghi issued an official statement, which we present below with minor abbreviations.
“It is with deep sadness that I write to you regarding the very disturbing incidents that took place during the Polish Cup final in Warsaw last weekend.
Some Pogoń Szczecin fans – including families, women and children – were insulted and attacked by certain individuals associated with the Legia Warsaw fan community. Some of our fans had their club accessories, including T-shirts and scarves, taken away by force. Others were verbally and physically attacked simply for proudly showing their loyalty to their team. I want to make it clear: such behaviour is inhumane, unacceptable and has absolutely no place in football, our country or society. Supporting different teams should never be a reason for violence. In football, we compete fiercely on the pitch, but off it, we are neighbours, brothers and sisters and citizens of the same country. After the final whistle, we are united by the same love for the game, for the community and for values such as respect and sportsmanship. Attacking a fellow countryman – another person – because of their loyalty to a football club is not only shameful, but also stupid and shameful. Pogoń Szczecin strongly stands for the values of fair play, unity and mutual respect. I call on all football clubs in Poland to join us and publicly condemn all forms of violence and aggression against fans - regardless of the club they are fans of. Football should be a celebration of emotions, community and joy. Our stadiums must be safe places where children, families and all fans can share unforgettable memories - without fear.
To all the Pogoń Szczecin fans and supporters who were attacked and robbed during the Polish Cup Final weekend - we stand with you. As a gesture of solidarity and support, we have prepared a special package for each of you to replace the stolen items, as well as additional gifts from the club as a small token of our gratitude for your loyalty and courage. Fans who have officially reported these incidents to the police will be eligible to receive these kits. We are grateful to everyone who has contacted us. I call on the police, the Polish Football Association and the Ministry of the Interior to continue their investigation with full force and ensure that those responsible for these heinous acts are identified, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Violence has no place in football - justice must be served. Violence against fans is a crime, it is not a show of passion or rivalry.
With respect
Alex Haditaghi
