Poland will become world champions! The national volleyball team has full support.

Coach Nikola Grbić's team was one of the few teams to go undefeated after the group stage. Poland defeated Romania 3-0, Qatar 3-0, and the Netherlands 3-1, respectively. This meant Poland would face Canada at the start of the knockout stage .

Men's Volleyball World Championships: Optimism over Poland's result. Will the national team win gold?

Poland traveled to the Philippines as runners-up in the 2022 World Cup. Back then, Poland lost the final to Italy 3-1 at the Spodek Arena in Katowice. Since then, however, Poland has won the European Championship (2023, after a 3-0 victory over Italy in Rome), finished as Olympic runners-up (2024, a 3-0 defeat to France), and recently won the Nations League (2025, winning the final 3-0 over Italy).

Additionally, Poland is the leader in the FIVB rankings, so it is hard not to consider this team among the big favorites for success at the World Championships.

We asked Poles what they predicted the final result of the Polish volleyball team at the tournament in the Philippines. The specific question was: What result will the Polish national volleyball team achieve at the World Championships? Commissioned by "Wprost," SW Research conducted a study whose results are certainly encouraging.

A staggering 41.5% of respondents believe Poland will become the men's volleyball world champion. Furthermore, 34.8% believe that even if they don't win the final, Poland will still stand on the podium, finishing the tournament with silver or bronze medals. This demonstrates the level of optimism surrounding the performance of volleyball players at major events.

Pessimists? Just 7.8% believe that Poland will finish the 2025 World Championships without a medal.

It's worth noting that Poland was the World Champion in 2018 and 2014. Considering the group stage upsets , Poland could face a truly formidable opponent in the semifinals, assuming the ongoing controversy has ended. In that case, Poland could face Italy, meaning a repeat of the 2022 World Cup final.

The study was conducted on September 16-17, 2025, by SW Research using online interviews on the SW Panel website. As part of the study, 824 interviews were conducted with a representative sample of Polish women and men over 18 years of age in terms of gender, age, and town size.
