She accused Świątek of being a liar! She will face her again
So far, Iga Świątek has played Danielle Collins eight times and has left the court in a better mood seven times. The American's only triumph came during the memorable semifinal of the Australian Open 2022, when the American tennis player gave the Raszyn player no chance, triumphing 6-4, 6-1.

Even though Świątek has beaten Collins seven times, she is certainly an uncomfortable opponent. The Pole often has problems with players who play aggressive, power tennis, and the American is one of them, and if she gets going and starts hitting shots, she can be unstoppable.
"You're fake"Collins is one of the most controversial figures on the women's tour. Her scandals also occurred during her matches with Świątek, especially after the last one - the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games in Paris, which ended with the American retiring with the Pole leading 6-1, 2-6, 4-1.
Immediately after the end of the competition, Collins went towards Świątek and threw a few unexpected words at her. The later bronze medalist of the quadrennial event stood on the court as if rooted to the spot after it was over.
- I told Iga that she doesn't have to be dishonest. Iga is pretending, she's fake - admitted the American, which she conveyed to the Pole during the "handshake".
- A lot happens in front of the camera or among people, but what happens in the locker room is a different matter. I don't have very nice experiences here. I don't need dishonesty. Let people behave the way they feel, I don't need falsehood - she added, accusing the Raszyn native of falsehood.
It was hard to understand Collins' behavior at the time. Basically... it is still unknown what the American was talking about. Świątek spoke about the incident in a similar tone.
- Well... I never did anything nasty towards her. I just wanted to congratulate her on her successful career, because we know that this is her last year (the American decided to continue playing - editor's note). Honestly, I don't know what she meant. We didn't have any interactions that could have caused something like this - explained the Pole after the competition.

Many months have passed since then, but during that time the two women have not had another opportunity to meet on the court. However, this will happen on Saturday. In the third round clash of the WTA 1000 event in Rome, Świątek will fight Collins for the eighth time.
