An unusual intervention in the Tri-City. A snake went missing on a train

The SKM Trójmiasto company reported the case. The incident occurred last week on the Gdynia Orłowo – Gdańsk route. It turned out that a royal python – the most popular species of snake bred at home – was missing from the train. “With the safety of passengers in mind, we searched the train to make sure that no one was in danger,” the post added.

Details were provided by RMF FM. On Wednesday around 11:00 a.m., the concerned owner contacted representatives of the Fast Urban Rail and informed them of the unusual loss.

" Immediately after receiving information about the missing snake, we informed the train crew and called the fire department and police to the scene," SKM spokesman Marcin Józefowicz told the station. The actions were carried out after the train reached the station in Lębork. A longer stop was planned there anyway.

The train was transported to the Gdynia Cisowa Postojowa station, where a detailed inspection was carried out. "The entire train was searched thoroughly, centimetre by centimetre. A man who knew the snake also arrived – he knew where to look. The train was checked. We were actually certain: there was no snake on the train," he added.

Giant Ball Python

The story has a happy ending. The reptile was found outside the train and spent 5 days in freedom. "Someone noticed it in the grass and notified the services," the SKM spokesman said. The passengers probably had no reason to worry. The snake the woman was carrying could have slipped out of the box after she got off the train and was walking to her car.

The Trojmiasto.pl portal reports that the railway company does not intend to take action against the owner who transported the snake on the train. Although the royal python has a massive body structure (from 90 to 150 cm), it is not venomous. Its bite can be painful, however.

Even greater consternation among passengers was caused last year by the sight of a tarantula walking on a Polregio train.
