It's the world's fastest electric car. Chinese gem breaks record on legendary track

Xiaomi EV has just announced a historic achievement. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production model has set the fastest lap time for a premium electric car on Germany's legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track.

Promises are promises, but the implementation is different. Xiaomi shows that actions are more important than words, and their electric sedan SU7 Ultra broke the lap record of the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife track.

Equipped with the optional track package, the vehicle completed the course on its first attempt in a time of just 7:04.957, breaking the previous record for a production electric car set by Rimac Nevera in August 2023.

The event shows that Xiaomi is no longer just "that cheap smartphone company." The record-breaking is the result of the company's uncompromising approach to track performance .

Huawei SU7 Ultra, or 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds

As we read on the brand's website, the so-called three basic electric technologies were of key importance here. This includes the electric motor , the traction battery and the engine control unit .

The production model retains the solutions proven in the prototype version, including a three-engine configuration: two V8 engines and one V6 , providing a total power of 1,548 hp. Thanks to this , the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds , and its maximum speed exceeds 350 km/h.

And while it all looks nice on paper, manufacturers make it clear: The ultimate test of technology and the source of all innovation is the racetrack.

- Constant overloads, extreme temperatures and high speeds test the durability of the entire drive system. Behind this record stands Xiaomi EV's consistent commitment to improving technology, improving the quality, reliability and safety of its vehicles - we read in a press release.

Xiaomi and Nürburgring Nordschleife

Notably, Xiaomi EV recently entered into a strategic partnership with the Nürburgring , becoming the track’s premium partner.

As part of this collaboration, one of the sections of the Grand Prix track was named "Xiaomi Curve" .

The company says that this collaboration will see it use the Nürburgring as a testing ground for future technologies that are set to redefine the performance standards of electric cars worldwide. With this kind of news, we believe it will succeed.
