Low prices and luxury for everyone. This night train will change travel

Your own room on the train? This is not a dream, but a reality that could be easily accessible to Europeans as early as 2027. NOX, a new rail carrier on the market, wants to launch long-distance night routes that will beat all previous experiences of traveling on rails in terms of comfort. Passengers will have at their disposal single or double closed cabins, the price of which is to be comparable to the prices of tickets on low-cost airlines. The authors of the project want night train travel to be the standard, and not just a "nostalgic niche".

A night train like no other

The fashion for long-distance rail connections is coming back. The interest in launching direct connections from Poland to Croatia has shown that tourists do not always prefer shorter and theoretically more comfortable flights. However, the problem is still the insufficient number of sleeping cars, as well as their insufficient quality - unless we are travelling in a larger group, compartments usually have to be shared with other passengers.

The German startup NOX wants to change that. The train project is led by traveler Thibault Constant, who has traveled hundreds of routes by night train in his life. However, the same problem always arose – lack of privacy and a quiet place to sleep, while a ticket cost him several hundred euros. “I partnered with Janek Smalla, who previously founded FlixTrain and was the CEO of Bolt Germany, to jointly establish Nox Mobility,” we read.

In the NOX trains, which are planned to appear on the European market as early as 2027, passengers would have only private, single or double sleeping compartments. In addition to the wide bunk beds, there would also be a relaxation area and plenty of space for luggage.

How much will the ticket cost?

Time will tell whether the ambitious vision will be realized, especially since NOX wants to offer its customers luxury at a truly affordable price. Single “room” prices are to start at 79 euros, and double rooms at 149 euros. Prices may vary depending on demand and the length of the route. There are plans to launch as many as 35 European routes – including connections from Warsaw to Vienna and Berlin.
