Poles Were Surprised. Egypt Suddenly Changed Entry Rules

The Polish Embassy in Cairo surprised Polish tourists with its latest announcement published on social media. From June 13 to 16, travelers flying to Egypt must have a return ticket to avoid problems at the border, which caused a lot of confusion in the comments under the announcement. The reason for the changes is the "Global March to Gaza" organized at that time.
Entry to Egypt only with a return ticketOn June 13, the Polish Embassy in Cairo published a statement on Facebook that worried tourists planning to travel to Egypt. "Between June 13 and 16, 2025, passengers will not be able to board a flight to Egypt without a confirmed return ticket! Please take this requirement into account when planning your trip," the Polish embassy said in an official statement. Travelers' comments were not long in coming - a commotion erupted under the post, because travelers did not know the reason for such a sudden introduction of new rules.
Some reported that despite the warning, they did not encounter any unpleasantness at the border related to the lack of the required travel document. Internet users also emphasized that travel agency customers have no reason to worry - people using the offer of tour operators as part of a package have already purchased return tickets.
Pro-Palestinian activists march in EgyptAs Hurghada24.pl explains, the announcement is the result of the "World March to Gaza" organized by pro-Palestinian activists, which is taking place at that time on the route from Cairo to Rafah in order to publicize the situation in the Gaza Strip. The changes in the scope of entry, about which airlines and travel agencies were informed, were introduced by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. "In order to ensure a possible quick and efficient deportation of activists - without consular mediation - the Egyptian authorities have introduced a "temporary requirement to have a return ticket from this country" - we read.
