Aguirre Talento: Dino suspends PGR complaint against Juscelino Filho for being 'illegible'

"I order (...) the interruption of the response deadlines for all defendants," he wrote in the ruling. The minister gave the Federal Police a ten-day deadline to deliver the evidence requested by the defense and ordered the PGR to present a new version of the complaint with legible excerpts of the dialogues. Only after that should he resume the proceedings.

Dino's position differs from that adopted with Bolsonaro

This understanding of access to the media in the process reported by Flávio Dino, who was Lula's Minister of Justice, differs from the position he adopted in the trial of the action against former president Jair Bolsonaro for attempted coup.

The defense did not argue that there were illegible passages, but also requested that the trial on the acceptance of the complaint only be scheduled after the Federal Police provided access to all the seized material. However, Dino and the other ministers of the First Chamber of the STF considered that, for the purpose of accepting the complaint, it is not necessary to provide access to all the evidence produced, but only to the material that had already been made available.

In this case, however, Dino determined that the PF present the full content of all these media before continuing with the process — this was exactly what Bolsonaro's defense and other defendants had requested.

"Once the steps determined in this remedial decision have been completed, a new summons will be issued to the defendants to offer their defense, respecting the entire deadline," wrote the minister in the ruling, issued on March 8.
