BCP jumps 2% before presenting accounts and stock markets close higher

The Lisbon stock exchange registered a positive sentiment in Wednesday's session, in line with its main European counterparts. Of note was the significant increase in the market capitalization of BCP, which will present its accounts for the 2024 financial year.
The only bank listed on the PSI index saw a 2.13% increase and shares reached €0.5852 in trading. EDP Renováveis also presents its accounts and gained 1.83% to €9.45. At the same time, REN rose 2.02% to €2.525.
In any case, the most significant increase was led by Mota-Engil, which added 3.46% to 3.052 euros.
Among the main European markets, Germany's benchmark index led sentiment, rising 1.83%. This was followed by jumps of 1.59% in Spain, 1.29% in Italy, 1.15% in France and 0.75% in the United Kingdom. The Euro Stoxx 50 aggregate index rose 1.43%.
In futures trading, the barrel of Brent fell 0.08% to 72.44 dollars, while crude oil rose 0.12% to 69.01 dollars per barrel.
