Child actor from 'Stuart Little' opens up about his career: 'I'm not where I want to be'

Jonathan Lipnicki is one of those faces known for having been a child actor in successful films of the 1990s and 2000s, such as Jerry Maguire (1996), Stuart Little (1999) and The Little Vampire (2000). In a recent interview with People magazine, Lipnicki, now 34 years old, opened up about the difficulties of achieving good results in acting.

Lipnicki took a break from his career to attend high school and, since he decided to return to work in the field, he has not been able to repeat the same success of his youth.
“Some really great things happened when I was younger. It’s perfectly okay to say that I’m not where I want to be career-wise,” the actor told the publication. He’s coping well, for now. “Everything we do in this life is almost impossible,” he added.
Lipnicki says he wants to act for the rest of his life. “I think you just have to believe that it’s going to happen, and do everything you can to move in the right direction,” he said. “I’ve had some in-between moments in my adult life where some things were really good and nobody saw them.”
The actor said he doesn't regret taking a break in his teens to study. He also explained that he doesn't usually accept any role that comes his way. "I really want to change the direction of this ship. I pray every night for clarity on where I need to go, and I'm confident that the best is yet to come for me," he confessed.
“If you’re going to go ahead with this, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t dream big,” Lipnicki said.
