Dukes of Bragança celebrated 30 years of living together at the Basilica of Estrela.
The Basilica da Estrela, in Lisbon, hosted this Tuesday, May 13, the ceremony celebrating the 30th wedding anniversary of D. Duarte Pio and Isabel de Herédia, which was accompanied by a special broadcast on TVI – the 'Festa Real', hosted by Manuel Luís Goucha.
In response to the presenter, Isabel de Bragança revealed that the secret to a successful marriage is respect. Something she told her daughter, Infanta Maria Francisca, before she married Duarte Martins in 2023.
“Respect and don’t try to change the other person,” he added. “Of course, in marriage, we always change, but try not to change the essence of the person. Otherwise, it will explode,” he considered.
In turn, when asked, Infanta Maria Francisca said that what she most admires about her parents is that “they are passionate and fun” . She stressed that, in her family, there are “great examples of what a marriage is” .
