Mano Menezes celebrates victory and shows respect to the Eagle of Marabá

On Wednesday night (26), Fluminense faced Águia de Marabá in the first phase of the Copa do Brasil . The tricolor team won 8-0 and secured a place in the next phase. At the press conference, coach Mano Menezes celebrated the victory and showed respect for the opponent, in addition to praising the Mangueirão pitch.

"The difficulty of the Copa do Brasil , the way each game is played, the respect you have to have for your opponents… and I think we respected Águia a lot and prepared well for the game, that was the first positive point we brought. Secondly, I think Lima is the player who comes closest to that place (of number 10)…" said the coach.

Mano Menezes also congratulated the state of the Mangueirão pitch, highlighting that the team can play good football and bring good entertainment to the public present, largely due to the preservation of the local pitch:

"I'll even take this opportunity to congratulate the local government, since they're the ones who manage the Mangueirão... The stadium is very beautiful, we've already seen it in the Recopa between Flamengo and Botafogo , although it rained a lot that day, but it was very beautiful. It's so good to see that we can take care of the things we build, which is a certain problem that we Brazilians have in most cases. The stadium is beautiful, the grass was good and we took advantage of this condition to play a game that I think pleased the fans who came to see it and we left satisfied with everything." - Mano Menezes concluded.

Fluminense 's next match will be on Sunday, at 6 pm, against Volta Redonda . The match will be decisive for both teams, being the first of two clashes, as the winner will secure a place in the 2025 Campeonato Carioca Final.
