Portuguese victory in Belgium

The Portuguese women's football team provisionally took first place in Group A3 of the Nations League today, after winning 1-0 in their visit to Belgium, in the second round of matches.
Carole Costa scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute, from the penalty spot, consummating the first victory for the team led by Francisco Neto, who had made their debut in the competition on Friday with a 1-1 draw against European champions England.
Portugal leads the group with four points, one more than Spain, in second place, and three more than England, in third place, and these two teams play today. Belgium is in last place, without any points.
The national team will play again in the Nations League in April, with two matches against Spain, the trophy holders and world champions, hosting the Spanish team on the 4th, in Paços de Ferreira, and traveling to Vigo, four days later.
League A is made up of four groups of four teams each, which play each other in two rounds, with the winners of each group progressing to the final phase. The runner-up will remain in the main league, the third-placed team will play a play-off for survival against a runner-up from League B, while the last-placed team will be relegated.
