Students with good performance in the 7th edition of the Marvila Open
The 7th edition of the Marvila Open Boxing, an event that has been a success and brings together athletes of the “noble art” from all over the world, took place over the weekend and Coimbra was represented by the boxing section of Académica, which participated with three athletes: Afonso Simões, Manuel Silva and the debutant João Neves.
The school team managed to bring home a silver medal through Afonso Simões in the junior 67 kg category. Manuel Silva was eliminated in the quarter-finals in a very balanced fight in the junior 63 kg category. João Neves made a good impression on his debut, also reaching the “quarters” of the senior event in the 71 kg category.
