The awards ceremony for the “Jorge Paiva” competition, an initiative that, as the name suggests, was held to pay tribute to one of the most illustrious botanists at the University of Coimbra and in the world, Professor Jorge Paiva. The initiative, promoted by the Biology Student Group of the AAC, aims to show that “as a UC community” we can and should “play an active role in the life of the Coimbra district, in order to make it more sustainable and environmentally friendly”. “We aim to put into practice all the words and awareness campaigns spoken by Professor Jorge Paiva throughout his life, in order to continue his fight, which is now ours.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Tropical Greenhouse of the University of Coimbra's Botanical Garden at 5:30 p.m. This ceremony will then be followed by a light snack in the jacaranda courtyard, also in the Botanical Garden.
