Coimbra's PSP arrested four men, one for drug trafficking

Four men aged between 29 and 54 were arrested by the Coimbra PSP, one of them on suspicion of drug trafficking and the other for assaulting a judicial authority, the police force reported this Friday.
The drug trafficking suspect, a 29-year-old man, was arrested late Thursday morning in the Santo António dos Olivais area, with 843.7 grams of marijuana, 334.26 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 15 cannabis plants and 468 euros in cash seized, “as well as various materials associated with the cultivation and trafficking of this type of drug,” according to a note from the PSP sent to the Lusa news agency.
The police entity said that the suspect was approached during a patrol action, having in his possession 28.77 grams of marijuana and 388 euros.
“When asked if he had more of the drug, the now-detained man admitted that he had more at his residence and authorized a home search, where the police made the other seizures (more marijuana, mushrooms, the remaining money and several objects associated with this type of illicit activity),” explained the PSP.
Another arrest, that of a 54-year-old man, previously reported, occurred at 9:45 am on Thursday, for assaulting a Public Prosecutor's Office magistrate, before a diligence at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Coimbra, located on Rua da Sofia, in the city center.
Still in downtown Coimbra, but at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, a 43-year-old man was arrested for resisting and coercing a law enforcement officer. "During a preventative policing operation, the police approached the individual and subjected him to a security search, finding 15 doses of hashish and 11 doses of cocaine in his possession," the PSP reported.
“During the police operation, the individual made several threats to the police officer who was carrying out the search,” and was subsequently arrested.
In the early hours of this Friday, on Antero de Quental Street, a 29-year-old man was arrested, “who was driving with a blood alcohol level of 1.55 grams per liter”.
