Fires. More than 60 municipalities at maximum risk

More than 60 municipalities in Faro, Bragança, Guarda, Vila Real, Viseu, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Santarém and Portalegre are at maximum risk of rural fires this Monday, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The IPMA has also placed several municipalities in all districts of mainland Portugal at very high and high risk of fire. According to the institute's calculations, the fire danger will remain high in some districts, at least until the weekend.
This risk, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum. The calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
The IPMA forecasts for this Monday on the mainland the sky will be very cloudy and there will be showers, which could be locally heavy, with hail and accompanied by thunderstorms, especially inland and from the afternoon onwards.
The forecast also points to a small rise in maximum temperatures on the North and Central coast and a small drop in the interior of the Center and the South region.
Minimum temperatures will range between 15 degrees Celsius (in Setúbal) and 21 (in Portalegre and Castelo Branco) and maximum temperatures between 25 (in Aveiro) and 34 (in Bragança).
