Journey to the 16th century past comes to an end today

Organized by the Parish Council, in collaboration with local associations, which are present at the event with stalls and entertainment, this initiative involves dozens of people, committed to making each new edition an improved bet.
With areas closed to traffic, the space is enlivened by taverns, banquets, a medieval market, exotic animals, a medieval carousel, parades, a circus and many musical shows, bringing the typical entertainment of the 1500s to the streets.
Today is Community Dance Day
Today, the last day of the event, one of the highlights will be the Community Dance, at 2.30 pm, hosted by Academia Velhotes Ativos, followed by a puppet show by Red Cloud Teatro de Marionetas, based in Aveiro.
The rest of the day will feature circus, music and puppetry, with the festivities ending at 11:30 pm with a fire show by the Mallatitsch group, accompanied by a musical performance by Corvus Del Rey.
The Esgueira 16th Century Festivals are open to the public and visitors are free to enjoy all the entertainment prepared for the event. The historic centre of the parish is the venue for the festivities, decorated in the period style and with tables available in the tavern area.
