The festival, with free entry, takes place in the Quinta da Flamenga Urban Park, in that municipality in the district of Lisbon, and presents a lineup "exclusively Portuguese in language, but truly diverse in the accents of those who compose it".
Today Deejay Telio, Phoenix RDC, Nenny, Mulas Baby, Mozzy Jr. and Yendis perform.
On Saturday, Wet Bed Gang, Força Suprema, Regula, Mizzy Miles, Spleepytheprince and the Orquestra Geração de Vialonga will take to the stage.
The lineup for Sunday includes Mariza, Bonga, Djodje, Soraia Ramos, Xibi & Tchoras MC (also known as ICB), Último Rasta and Batucadeiras.
The new festival, with free entry limited to the capacity of the space, is organized in the name of "all those who capitalized on the spirit of the language -- the accent".
Sotaques is promoted by Wet Bed Gang (Gson, Kroa, Zara G and Zizzy), originally from Vialonga, in partnership with Vila Franca de Xira City Council.
Wet Bed Gang came together in 2013. The four grew up together in Vialonga, where they still live and have a studio.
In 2017, they released their debut EP, 'Filhos do Rossi', a tribute to one of the founders of the Wet Bed Gang 'movement', João Rossi, who died in 2014.
In February 2021, 'Ngana Zambi' was released, the first album created from scratch - "from the first 'beat' to the last word" -, which features the collaboration of 'kota' Bonga in the narration.
The second album, 'Gorilleyez', which goes from 'drill' to samba and shows who the group is and how they see the world, was released in 2023.
