Pedrosa and Campos fail to qualify for the Elite16 in Rio

The Portuguese beach volleyball duo João Pedrosa and Hugo Campos failed to qualify for the main draw of the Elite16 Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, this Wednesday, after losing 2-1 to the Dutch Ruben Penninga and Matthew Immers.

Pedrosa and Campos started the match well and won the first set 21-19, but the Dutch duo were superior in the remaining two sets, winning 22-20 and 19-17, the latter led by the Portuguese until 17-16.

After fifth place achieved last weekend at the Elite16 João Pessoa, also in Brazil, João Pedrosa and Hugo Campos failed to qualify for another stage of the highest category of the world circuit in the tiebreaker in the black .
