Santa Maria da Feira takes works by António Joaquim to the streets

Santa Maria da Feira will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of master António Joaquim, considered the most renowned self-taught painter in the municipality, with an unprecedented open-air exhibition, starting today. Ten replicas of emblematic works by the artist born in 1925 and from Travanca will be exhibited in different urban spaces, in order to create an artistic journey accessible to all and with the aim of leading the public to rediscover his legacy of color, emotion and identity. At the same time, the originals of the works, as well as other pieces representing the artist's career, will be on display at the Museu Convento dos Lóios, providing the public with a "more intimate experience" of his legacy.
The Commemorative Exhibition of the Centenary of the master's birth, promoted by the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, will be inaugurated today at 12.30 pm.
