Brazil ends European boxing GP with 6 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze

Brazilian boxing had a Saturday (14) full of podiums at the Czech Republic Grand Prix, a stage of the world circuit, held in the city of Ústí nad Labem. The country won 10 medals overall, seven of them gold, won today (14) on the last day of competition. Among the women, the boxers Rebeca Santos (60 kg category), Bárbara dos Santos (70 kg) and Viviane Pereira (75 kg) reached the top of the podium. In the men's competition, the champions were Luiz 'Bolinha” Oliveira (60 kg), Kaian Reis (70 kg) and Isaias Filho (90 kg). Michael Douglas Trindade took the only silver medal of the day, after being defeated 4 to 1 by the Japanese Yamaguchi Rui in the 55 kg final.

This is Bolinha's second gold this season: in May, the São Paulo native from São Caetano do Sul, who represented the country in Paris 2024, was Brazilian champion in the 60kg.
Also by unanimous decision of the judges, Isaias Filho won the gold in the 90 kg, beating the American Malachi Georges with ease. Kaian Reis secured the gold in the 70 kg with a 4-1 victory over the British Callum Makin.
In the women's competition, the only ones left in the ring were Rebeca Santos – an undisputed victory over Canadian Marif Al Ahmadieit in the 60 kg final – and Bárbara dos Santos, who beat American Marie-Angelis Rosendo. Viviane Pereira fought a close fight with Italian Melissa Geminy before sealing the victory by 4 to 1 and becoming champion in the 75 kg.
Last Friday (14), Brazil had already won three bronze medals with Beatriz Soares (65 kg), Jucieln Romeu (57 kg) and Joel da Silva (90 kg).
