Emergency room at Évora hospital with constraints

The emergency department at Évora hospital has restrictions on admitting patients in the Internal Medicine specialty until 8:00 am this Friday, as the clinical team is incomplete, it was announced today.

In a statement, the Central Alentejo Local Health Unit (ULSAC) reported that the Multipurpose Emergency Department at the Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora (HESE), in the Internal Medicine specialty, has been receiving only “new admissions of patients referred by CODU/INEM, other doctors or SNS 24” since Thursday afternoon.

This period of constraints began at 1:00 pm this Thursday and will last until 8:00 am on Friday, said ULSAC, explaining that the situation is due to “an incomplete team, for unforeseen reasons”.

“All professionals are committed to providing the best care, despite the lack of staff,” the local health unit assured.

The population, ULSAC appealed, should “use the SNS 24 support line and primary health care units, before going to the hospital, so that they can be guided according to the severity of their situation”.

The Central Alentejo Local Health Unit recalled that there is also “24-hour service available in Vendas Novas, Montemor o Novo and Estremoz”, in the district of Évora.
