Kate Middleton says cancer recovery has been 'a rollercoaster'

Kate Middleton, who announced in January that she was in remission from cancer, compared her recovery from the disease on Wednesday (2) to “a rollercoaster” with “difficult moments”.
The Princess of Wales, wife of Prince William, the heir to the British throne, revealed in March 2024 that she had cancer, without specifying what type.
In January, she announced, “relieved”, that the cancer was in remission and said she was “focused” on her “recovery”.
Having cancer is “a life-changing experience for both the patient and their families,” mother-of-three Kate said on Wednesday during a visit to the hospital in Colchester, eastern England.
“You don’t realize, especially when it’s your first time, the impact it will have,” the 43-year-old princess continued. “You have to find your new normal, and that takes time,” she added.
“Recovery, the journey to rebalance” is like “a rollercoaster.” (…) These are difficult times,” Kate said, addressing patients, volunteers and staff at the hospital’s cancer center.
“You put on a good face, you show a certain stoicism during the treatment, it ends and you say to yourself 'I can carry on, I can go back to having a normal life', but in reality the period afterwards is really difficult,” insisted the Princess of Wales, emphasizing the need for support for patients at this time.
Since announcing her remission, the princess has gradually resumed her official activities.
In mid-June, however, she pulled out of the Royal Ascot horse races. At the time, it was said she was seeking “the right balance” after her cancer.
