LPCC Southern Nucleus grants support to Oncology research
The Southern Regional Center of the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC-NRS) announces increased support for research projects in Oncology for 2025, funding five research projects with 75,000 euros.
The five new research projects, winners of the LPCC-NRS Grants 2025/2027, will receive funding of 15,000 euros each, and will address several areas of oncology, from the impact of lifestyle on breast cancer and the search for new diagnostic methods for this disease, to the identification of genetic markers in pediatric thyroid cancer and the development of more personalized and innovative therapeutic approaches for breast cancer.
Since 1998, the Southern Regional Centre of the Portuguese League Against Cancer has awarded 81 research grants and invested over one million euros in innovative projects. Over the course of 27 years, more than 600 projects have been rigorously assessed by a panel of renowned researchers, contributing to over 100 scientific publications and to the development of talent in the field.
