Anjos vs Joana Marques: second day of trial

Nuno Feist explains why the Angels did not go out of tune on that fateful day in Portimão. “If the rhythm was not altered, if the harmony was not altered and if the harmony fits, I cannot say that there was any out of tune”, he says.
The conductor and professor at the Conservatory was brought in by the singing duo’s team for a “technical opinion”, in the lawyer’s words. “This is not the Angels I know”, said the professional about the video released (which he called “catastrophic”), explaining that there are differences between the video broadcast and the one in situ . “I understand the reaction people are having from the video, but I know it doesn’t correspond to the truth”, he continues.
“Lyrics”, “melody”, “rhythm”, “harmony” were some of the terms used to explain why there was no out-of-tune sound. It was a sound technique that “ruined a performance”, he says simply. “If the sound had been 100% this would never have happened, because they were not bad”.
Regarding the controversy surrounding the word “egrégios”, Feist recalls that “we are talking about an open-air recording”, but notes that when the French President, Emmanuel Macron, was in Portugal, during the performance of the national anthem, “igreijos” was also heard and that the recording is even available on the Presidency’s website. “From the moment I hear that at a state ceremony… I don’t see all that importance”, he downplayed.
The maestro clarifies that the relationship with the Rosado brothers is strictly “professional”. “I know Angel Minds and have already performed with the Angels”.
