Gwyneth Paltrow Wants to Stay Friends with Dakota Johnson

G Wyneth Paltrow built a "close friendship" with Dakota Johnson while the actress was in a relationship with Chris Martin, and she doesn't want to lose those ties.

Now that the actress and Coldplay frontman are separated, Gwyneth Paltrow "plans to stay friends" with Dakota, a source told People. That's because, she says, "they've become close over the years and Gwyneth considers Dakota to be part of the family."

"There is a genuine mutual respect between Gwyneth and Dakota, and they have a lot in common," the source says. "They both grew up in the spotlight, have been in the business for years and really relate to each other's experiences."

It was this week that People confirmed that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin had ended their relationship, which began in 2017. The singer, it should also be remembered, was married to Gwyneth Paltrow between 2003 and 2014, and together they are parents to Apple, 21, and Moses, 19.
