King Charles III is "furious" over mistakes that have seen pheasant numbers decline at Sandringham, which could lead to a Christmas tradition being scrapped.
According to The Sun, the monarch is at risk of having the annual Boxing Day hunt - held the day after Christmas, December 26 - cancelled. A person who worked at the Norfolk estate and was responsible for organising the event has been fired.
"It was a big mess... No birds," said one source, adding that "the king didn't accept it."
Charles III, who supports traditional rural practices, could be left without the annual Boxing Day photoshoot - a favourite of the royal family. The occasion is seen as a rare opportunity for family bonding, despite protests from animal rights activists who are particularly keen on children taking part, The Sun reports.
