Neymar had barely returned to the field for Santos and was already out of action again. On March 9, Bruna Biancardi 's boyfriend, who is pregnant with Mel, her second daughter with the athlete , suffered an injury to his left thigh while playing in the semi-final of the Campeonato Paulista against Corinthians . He had returned to play on April 16 against Atlético-MG, but felt the muscle again and left the field .
After weeks of preparation, Neymar returned again, ignored even by his Santos teammates in the locker room , on May 25, against Vitória . Sent off in the match against Botafogo on June 1 , Santos reported this Saturday (07) that the athlete will be away from the club for a while longer due to a Covid-19 diagnosis .
In a press release, Santos, which paid an absurd amount to have Neymar back at the club , revealed that the first symptoms appeared last Thursday (05), when Neymar underwent laboratory tests and received the diagnosis. He was immediately released and placed on bed rest at home.
"With the viral symptoms that began on Thursday (5), the athlete Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Santos FC Medical Department, which confirmed infection by Covid-19. The player had already been away from activities since Thursday, when the symptoms began, and remains resting at home and undergoing symptomatic treatment, as determined by a doctor ," explained Santos.
