Faro Hospital treated Ventura without incidents or special security measures

“There was no record of any security incident before, during or after the hospital treatment of MP André Ventura, nor were there any special security measures on the part of the hospital”, said the Algarve Local Health Unit (ULS) in a note sent to the Lusa news agency.
The position of the ULS/Algarve comes after the statements made by the leader of Chega on Thursday in Odemira , justifying “for security reasons” the different treatment he received during his hospital stay in Faro , after feeling unwell during a dinner rally on Tuesday night in Tavira .
Ventura said he was placed “in a room with security at the door,” adding that the hospital only had two options: “Either I stayed with security and the police or they let me kill me,” he said.
In addition to no special security measures having been implemented, “there was no need for specific guidelines related to his status as a political elected official”, highlights the hospital administration.
According to ULS/Algarve, the treatment of the deputy was regular and followed the clinical protocols appropriate to the symptoms presented.
“The Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where the care took place, maintained its usual dynamics, with full technical autonomy in the allocation of resources and the actions of health professionals”, reads the note.
Clinical decisions followed exclusively medical criteria, “without external interference or special guidelines”, concluded the Faro hospital administration.
