Google and Meta indicate use of email linked to Mauro Cid in account under investigation

Google and Meta communicated to the Supreme Federal Court that the Instagram account @gabrielar702 , currently under investigation, was registered with the email [email protected].

The revelation is contained in documents that were previously under seal and were made public on Monday 23 by decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes , rapporteur of the criminal action investigating the coup plot. According to the documents, Google reported that the email was created in 2005 and is linked to a user whose date of birth is the same as Mauro Cid.

Meta, responsible for Instagram, confirmed that the account @gabrielar702 was opened using this same email address and that it is verified in the platform's records.

The profile gained repercussion after the publication , by Veja magazine, of messages attributed to Mauro Cid, in which he would talk about the terms of his award-winning collaboration with people linked to the entourage of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

During his testimony to the Supreme Federal Court, Cid stated that he did not discuss the content of his plea bargain on Instagram. When asked about the profile @gabrielar702 by lawyer Celso Vilardi, who is working on Bolsonaro's defense, Cid stated that he did not know if the profile belonged to his wife, although he acknowledged that her name is Gabriela.

The lieutenant colonel's defense team denies that he is responsible for the messages released and requested an investigation into the account's ownership. In the court records, attorney Eduardo Kuntz, who is defending former aide Marcelo Câmara, stated that he was responsible for the conversations held through the account.

Given this information, Moraes interpreted the facts as evidence of an attempt to interfere in the investigation and ordered Câmara's arrest , in addition to opening an investigation against the lawyer.
