The privatization of TAP was only enacted by Marcelo after clarifications from the Government

The President of the Republic promulgated the diploma on the reprivatization of TAP, following clarifications from the Government.
“Following government clarifications, the President of the Republic promulgated the diploma approving the process of reprivatization of the share capital of TAP – Transportes Aéreos Portugueses, SA,” reads the note published yesterday on the website of the Presidency of the Republic.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa had already indicated, after the Executive's announcement regarding the sale of 44.9% of the carrier, that he could give the green light to the deal, which was confirmed.
At the time, the head of state said that he considered that the position of the State and workers was safeguarded in the business model approved by the Executive in the Council of Ministers.
It should be noted that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in October 2023, vetoed the proposal by António Costa's Government for the privatization of TAP, considering that it "raised multiple doubts and reticence in light of the desired maximum transparency of the process."
