Botafogo overtakes Flamengo in awards in 2025; Fluminense leads

Botafogo surpassed Flamengo in the prize money rankings in 2025. With their qualification for the Copa do Brasil, the Glorioso overtook Flamengo by just R$563,000. Overall, taking into account all competitions played this year, they have already accumulated almost R$197 million. Fluminense , in turn, leads the rankings with approximately R$355 million.

In 2025, Botafogo has already competed in the Club World Cup, Libertadores, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa and Recopa. Last year, Alvinegro was the club with the highest prize money, exceeding R$260 million. In fact, Glorioso released its 2024 financial statement this Friday (8) with record revenue .

Eliminated in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo only has the Libertadores and Brasileirão ahead of it—just like Palmeiras , which is second in the rankings with over R$257 million in prize money. Fluminense, meanwhile, still competes in the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sudamericana, in addition to the Brasileirão. Of the nearly R$355 million accumulated, R$330 million came from the Club World Cup.

Only the quartet formed by Fluminense, Palmeiras, Botafogo and Flamengo surpassed the R$100 million mark in prize money in 2025. Fluminense and Palmeiras, in turn, are the only ones above R$200 million, while Tricolor is the only one with more than R$300 million.

Compared to last year, Atlético has seen the biggest drop so far. After all, Galo earned over R$100 million last year and currently sits in tenth place with just R$26 million, according to a survey by "Gato Mestre" from "ge."
