Check out the teams that qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil

The round of 16 clashes of the Copa do Brasil ended on Thursday night (07). With that, eight clubs remain to compete in the quarterfinals. In total, three from Rio de Janeiro, two from Minas Gerais, one from São Paulo, one from Paraná and one from Bahia remain in the dispute.

Cruzeiro was the last team to qualify, beating CRB 2-0 away from home. Vasco also secured their spot this Thursday. At São Januário, Cruzeiro defeated CSA 3-1 and advanced after drawing the first leg.

The other matches took place on Wednesday. In two matches, the winners were determined by penalty shootouts. In Curitiba, Athletico defeated São Paulo in regulation time and relied on Santos' star player to advance on penalties. Atlético Mineiro lost to Flamengo in the 90 minutes but prevailed on penalties.

Bahia and Fluminense made the most of their first-leg advantage, drawing with Retrô and Internacional, respectively. Corinthians defeated Palmeiras again, eliminating their rival. Botafogo also defeated Bragantino for the second time and advanced with two wins from the match.

Now, the quarterfinal duels will be known in a draw next Tuesday (12). The eight clubs will be in a single pot and the CBF will also define the bracket until the semifinal. The next Copa do Brasil matches are scheduled for August 27 and September 11.
