He's staying! Neymar renews with Santos and new contract could reach R$95 million

With his contract set to expire on June 30, Santos quickly secured the player's continued presence at the club. The player and the board will sign the new contract in the coming days, which runs until December 2026 and could reach R$95 million in image rights alone.

The Sunday program "Esportes Record" revealed that the talks have come to an end and Neymar will remain at Santos. And according to reporter Fabiano Farah, the new agreement was only accepted when the club convinced Neymar's father, the player's agent, to pay off the image rights for the first five months of the contract in installments until December 2026. The amount is around R$95 million.

Neymar returned to Santos after 12 years playing away from Brazil. The player is expected to miss the match against Fortaleza, as he caught Covid-19 and is resting and receiving treatment at home. Santos and Fortaleza will face off next Thursday (12) at Castelão, for the 12th round of the Brasileirão.
