Pedro is out of sorts, and Jorginho is in sync: see the highlights of Flamengo's victory in the World Cup debut

Summary Flamengo beat Espérance 2-0 in their World Cup debut, with Jorginho and Luiz Araújo as positive highlights, while Pedro and Gerson had performances below expectations.
Flamengo got off to a great start in the Club World Cup. On Monday night, the 16th, the team led by Filipe Luís beat Espérance, from Tunisia, 2-0, in the first round of Group D of the competition, at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia, in the United States.
Collectively, the team from Gávea was better in the first half, with almost complete control of the action, despite the lack of aggression. In the second half, however, the Rubro-negro had some 'disappearing' minutes and even had a few scares.
- Jorginho : it didn't even seem like the midfielder was playing his first match wearing a Flamengo shirt. In addition to almost all of Filipe Luís's team's plays going through his feet, the Italian-Brazilian provided a beautiful assist for Luiz Araújo's goal. He was replaced by Allan in the 29th minute of the second half.
- Luiz Araújo: despite having made some mistakes in attack, the striker cannot be left out of the highlights of the match. He provided the assist for Arrascaeta's goal and scored the second. He remained on the field until the second half's injury time, when he was replaced by Everton Cebolinha.
- Giorgian De Arrascaeta: as usual, the Uruguayan appeared well, added a touch of class to the attacking plays and scored the goal that opened the scoring, having even appeared in the build-up to the play. He was elected the best on the field by the official broadcast, even though he was replaced by Michael in the 29th minute of the second half.
- Pedro : the striker struggled with the few balls he received and barely showed up in the first half. In the second half, he was called upon more, but missed two great chances in a row. He left the field in the 20th minute of the second half to be replaced by Bruno Henrique.
- Gerson : amid rumors of a possible move to Zenit in Russia, the midfielder was far from his great performances for Flamengo. He played further forward on the right side and participated a lot in the match while he was on the field, but held the ball for longer than necessary in some plays.
Flamengo will return to the field next Friday, the 20th, against Chelsea. The final match of Group D will be against Los Angeles FC on Tuesday, the 24th.
