Portimonense presents Jarleysom, João Casimiro and Diogo Casimiro

Brazilian defender Jarleysom, who reunites with coach Tiago Fernandes, and midfielder João Casimiro, who came from the under-23 team, were announced as Portimonense 's reinforcements.
The press conference to officially present Jarleysom, João Casimiro and defender Diogo Casimiro, whose signing had already been revealed in June, took place this Thursday at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão.
Jarleysom, 21, trained at Aster Brasil and Atlético Mineiro, in his home country, had his first stint in Portuguese football between 2022 and 2024, playing for Beira-Mar's juniors and Torreense's under-23s, where he was coached by Tiago Fernandes, the Algarve team's new coach.
He then represented Palmeiras, the club where he was crowned Brazilian under-20 champion in 2024, and Guarulhos.
“I am ready for this opportunity. I have big plans on a personal and collective level, and I hope to do my best to help the group,” said the Brazilian central defender, who considered “desire, humility, aerial balls, passing and marking ability” to be his strengths.
Midfielder João Casimiro, 19, wore the Portimonense under-23 jersey last season and convinced the Algarve SAD's management, signing a two-year contract, plus an optional one.
“It’s a very happy day to be able to get here. I worked hard for this and I have to work harder to get where I want to be”, said the athlete, who trained between Corroios, Almada 2015, Belenenses and Amora, where he made his senior debut.
Right-back Diogo Casimiro, who arrives from Oliveirense and signed for one season, plus another as an option, said he felt that Portimonense “would be an excellent project” for his career development.
Portimonense now has a total of nine reinforcements, with these three joining goalkeepers Hamza Alaa and Cibois, defender Marlon Júnior, midfielder Samuel Lobato and forwards Mesaque Djú and Diogo Cabral.
The 'alvinegro' emblem, 15th in the 2024/25 edition of the II Liga, heads into its second consecutive season in the secondary division, under the guidance of coach Tiago Fernandes, who succeeds Ricardo Pessoa.
