The pavilion is undergoing construction and the AAC roller hockey team has nowhere to play.

Renovation work on Pavilion 3 of the Coimbra University Stadium begins in September. For at least six months, the sports facility will no longer be used by Académica roller hockey teams, whose management is desperate for an alternative solution. "We're the largest roller hockey club in the country, with nearly two hundred athletes across different age groups, including senior men and women, and we have nowhere to train, much less play," laments Paulo Peixoto, president of the AAC's Skating Section. According to the director, there are three possible solutions, in as many pavilions in the city, where, it should be noted, a lot of good hockey has already been played: Mário Mexia, which is owned by the city council; Jorge Anjinho, which is owned by Académica/OAF, under the management of DG/AAC; and Pavilion 1 of the University Stadium. The Skating Section already reported the situation to the Coimbra City Council, the General Management, and the AAC Sports Council about a month ago. None of them responded. The preference is for Mário Mexia, where a political decision by the local authority is sufficient. Jorge Anjinho, on the other hand, requires minor work on the current floor, including openings to restore the existing backboard structure. Finally, in Pavilion 1, where backboards are also suitable, the problem is the excess resin on the floor, due to its use by Académica's handball team. “The solution has to be one of these three and may even involve a combination of two or all three,” says Peixoto.
What seems to be out of the question is leaving Coimbra – there are pavilions with tables in Mealhada and Poiares – and using the Vilarinho pavilion, where AAC trains but which has deficiencies in changing rooms and lighting, in addition to its reduced dimensions (at most, it allows 19x38 m).
