UFC: Poatan indicates when he will fight again and makes fun of Ankalaev

Present in the audience at UFC 316 , on Saturday night (7), Alex Poatan Pereira finally indicated the date he intends to fight again and even took the opportunity to mock Magomed Ankalaev 's title.

The Brazilian, who has been traveling a lot around the world — he was in Japan and Germany recently —, confessed that he needed to take some time to rest after having fought four times in one year, but assured that he is focused on recovering the light heavyweight belt.

“People are used to seeing me fighting all the time. Now I’m resting my body a little. [The next fight] should be in October. September, October or November,” said the Brazilian.

After the long trips, Poatan will come to Brazil for a few days and will take the opportunity to resume his training routine before returning to the United States, where he currently lives.

There is a strong possibility that the fight will actually take place in October, when the UFC usually holds a numbered card in Abu Dhabi; as Ankalaev is Muslim, the rematch would be a good draw for the local public and sponsors.

In the same interview, Alex Pereira responded to Ankalaev's statements about him already thinking about retirement; the Russian, once again, used social media to provoke the former champion and ended up getting a comeback.

“Nobody even knows he’s a champion. I’m not going to argue on the internet,” said the Brazilian, who in fact doesn’t usually respond to Magomed’s provocations.

Despite no longer being the light heavyweight champion, Poatan continues to be one of the most popular fighters in the UFC and, consequently, one of the ones who sells the most fights even without arguing on social media.

Both on his trip to Germany and to Japan, Pereira drew crowds wherever he went — it's no wonder that Ankalaev always mentions the Brazilian.
