Wimbledon: Nuno Borges eliminated in third round after 'battle' with Khachanov

Portuguese tennis player Nuno Borges fell today in the third round of Wimbledon, after being defeated in five sets by Russian Karen Khachanov, 17th seed at the London grass court 'major'.
The national number one and 37th player in the world led the fifth set 5-2, but was eliminated by the 20th ranked player in the ATP rankings by partial scores of 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 4-6, 6-3 and 7-6 (10-8), in three hours and 48 minutes.
Nuno Borges, who until this year had never made it past the first round at the All England Club, left the singles draw of the third Grand Slam of the season without Portuguese representation, failing to equal João Sousa, the only national tennis player to reach the 'round of 16' at Wimbledon (2019).
