In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, swindlers stole about three million rubles from residents. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Criminal cases have been opened on all the facts, and investigative actions are being carried out, the department clarified.
The first victim, an 84-year-old resident of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, gave the scammers 938 thousand rubles. She received a call from a man who introduced himself as an employee of the center where she had previously worked. He warned the pensioner about the audit and said that an employee of the audit commission would soon contact her. During the next call, the elderly woman was told that she was allegedly a defendant in a criminal case about fictitious employment contracts and that to solve the problem, she needed to transfer all her savings to a special account before the end of the audit. As a result, the woman followed all the instructions and was left without money.
The next victim of the scammers was a 45-year-old resident who wanted to buy an ATV online for 975 thousand rubles. The seller sent the buyer a delivery note and a photo and video report, after which he received two transfers from the applicant for the above-mentioned amount. However, after checking the delivery note with the transport company later, the buyer found out that there was no such order. By this time, the seller had already deleted the dialogue, photos and his profile in the messenger, and also removed the ad from the site.
Another pensioner believed the scheme with alleged employees of a mobile operator and "Gosuslugi" and gave the scammers her personal data, as well as transferred a million rubles to a "safe account".
Earlier it was reported that a resident of Ufa paid for the recalculation of her scholarship with an apartment.
