An IT company employee was arrested in Mordovia for treason, RIA Novosti reports.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 275 (“High Treason”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the agency, a 39-year-old local resident, an IT company employee, contacted a representative of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) via Telegram and began selling data on the region's critical infrastructure. He also provided the details of a regional Ministry of Internal Affairs officer to organize a contract killing.
FSB officers identified and stopped his activities. The court ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody.
Investigative actions are ongoing to establish his involvement in other crimes.
It was previously reported that a Russian citizen paid for materials posted on a social network.
