MOSCOW, June 7 - RIA Novosti. Teenagers have become one of the main targets for fraudsters due to the lack of critical thinking and a low level of forecasting, Vera Nikishina, a doctor of psychological sciences, professor, and director of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Social Work at Pirogov University of the Russian Ministry of Health, told RIA Novosti. She clarified that teenagers do not have critical or abstract-logical thinking. It can arise by the end of adolescence if a person does not have any psychopathology. Critical thinking allows one to establish cause-and-effect relationships, relationships between the general and the particular. Its absence or lack of formation makes teenagers vulnerable to manipulation. "Fraudulent schemes are often based on the principles of game content. The scenario of teenagers' involvement becomes very similar to a game. They reproduce, or rather even transfer, the actions that they were allowed to do in the game and that they have repeated with pleasure many times, to a real situation. A very specific problem arises: the boundary between reality mediated by technical means and reality not mediated by technical means. This boundary is blurred for teenagers," the doctor said. She added that a teenager is ideal in terms of the influence of fraudsters. At this age, their ability to predict has not yet been fully formed, which also limits the ability to maintain their inviolability and not fall under the influence of fraudsters. "In addition, the social environment is now quite actively broadcasting the attitude of invulnerability: "Nothing will happen to you because you are a minor" or "You are young, you will be pitied," as if he is not responsible for all subsequent actions," Nikishina noted. According to her, this age group has become one of the obvious targets for scammers and manipulators due to the lack of critical thinking and low level of forecasting.
