Efremov's lawyer answered whether the actor really applied for parole

The lawyer of the Russian actor Mikhail Efremov, Yuri Padalko, did not refute the information that the actor initiated the process related to parole. In a conversation with NEWS.ru, he noted that if this statement was made in court, then it should be perceived as true.
If they said it [in court], then it’s true ,” Padalko explained.
Earlier, information appeared that Efremov, who was sentenced to 7.5 years, filed a petition for parole . The application was submitted to the Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region. It will consider the artist's claim on March 24.
Previously, Padalko reported that he had no information about his client filing a "secret" petition for parole. He referred to the fact that he was on a business trip to Voronezh on another case.
Lawyer Sergei Zhorin previously stated that Efremov, who is serving a sentence for a fatal accident, could be released from prison on parole if he demonstrates exemplary behavior. He noted that he cannot comment on cases in which he is not involved, according to lawyer ethics. However, according to him, the conditions for parole in Russia are spelled out in Article 79 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and are the same for everyone.
